Hawaii Sheep and Goat Association
Our mission is to support, strengthen, and improve Hawaii’s sheep and goat community by providing a network, coordinating educational and promotional events, and serving as a unified voice for sheep and goat producers in Hawaii.

Family Owned Farms and Herds in Hawaii
Raia Olsan
Raia Olsan is a mother of 4 who owns and operates O’ahu Grazers, LLC, along with her husband, Daniel Olsen. She raises large flocks of hair sheep scattered across the island of O’ahu. She uses her sheep to manage the vegetation on multiple solar sites and has begun brush management by grazing with sheep and goats in fire-prone communities.
Erika Catanese
Erika Catanese is practicing agroecology and rescue, serving people, animals, and the place through regenerative practices. She also teaches botany, ecology, and environmental science.
Thema Black
Since 2009, Thema has managed purebred and crossbred Dorper sheep in Kona and Waimea.
In the 70 and 90’s, she and her family operated a sheep ranch in Oregon, where she showed and sold registered Suffolks. She is a volunteer staff member at YWAM Kona.
